After eliminating plastics from their dining services in 2009, the University of Massachusetts Amherst needed compostable foodservice products that lived up to their claims.
With a population of over 44,000 students, the University of Michigan is one of the leading public research universities located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The university has been recognized by AASHE’s Sustainable Campus Index for their sustainability efforts to maintain a green campus and programs.
In an effort to reduce his fraternity’s waste footprint, Tobin Brenner, an Environmental Science student at the University of Michigan, set out to start a composting program at his Social Fraternity, Delta Tau Delta.
