Our efforts to create a better world is something we take seriously. The following third-party organizations verify these certifications of our products and business.


Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI)

The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) is a not-for-profit association that reviews and certifies compostable products that meet ASTM D6400 and ASTM D6868 conditions for compostability. The BPI certification program applies science-based testing to prove a material will compost in a municipal or commercial facility and leave no toxic or lingering plastic residues in the soil.   • PLA cold cups, soufflé cups, clamshells, delis and take-out containers
  • TPLA cutlery and ZeroWare
  • Food scraps, kitchen and yard waste bags
  • Paper and NoTree cups, bowls, containers and paper straws
  • Lids for hot cups and bowls
  • Fiber plates, cups, bowls, lids, clamshells and containers with no added PFAS


USDA BioPreferred Program (Biobased Labeling)

USDA Biobased Product labels indicate that a product has been independently certified to meet USDA BioPreferred program standards for biobased content.   • Compostable Paper/PLA (Hot Cups and Bowls): 100% Biobased
  • Compostable PLA (Clamshells, Deli Containers, Cold Cups, Straws): 99% Biobased
  • Compostable Plant Fiber (Clamshells, Plates, Bowls, Trays): 95% Biobased
  • Compostable Heat Resistant Cutlery (PLA/Talc Blend): 100% Biobased
  • NoTree Compostable Containers: 98% Biobased

Compost Manufacturing Alliance (CMA)

CMA is a third-party organization that utilizes a nationwide partnership of compost manufacturing facilities to provide field disintegration testing for food service products. To learn more about CMA, please visit their website.

To accomplish higher food waste diversion and minimize contamination in urban feed stocks, CMA and its affiliated members offer a program of technical review and field testing of compostable products to determine their feasibility as a feed stock when shipped to fully permitted industrial composting facilities.

Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®)

FSC® certification is a market-based tool that supports responsible forest management worldwide. FSC certified forest products are verified from the forest of origin through the supply chain. TÜV AUSTRIA OK Compost HOME Certification

World Centric® compostable bags are certified by TÜV AUSTRIA as suitable for home composting. The "OK Compost HOME" label guarantees biodegradation in your backyard or garden compost heap.

B Corporation

B Corporations (or B Corps) are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
