World Centric Celebrates
21st Anniversary

Twenty one years ago, Aseem Das created World Centric as a non-profit organization with a mission to raise awareness of global humanitarian and environmental challenges.

Starting out, World Centric's focus was hosting film nights and speakers on environmental, social, human rights and peace issues. In 2005, Aseem began selling Fair Trade products and compostables to fund his work. World Centric continued to show films and host speakers and courses for several years. By 2009, selling compostable products became World Centric's primary focus and the company transitioned to a for-profit social enterprise, pledging to give at least 25% of its profits to grassroot organizations working on social and environmental issues.

In 2010, World Centric became a certified B Corp and later a California Benefit Corporation in 2013. For the past 21 years, we’ve been using our products and profits to help make the world a better place, with over $19M given to hundreds of nonprofit projects around the world to date.

With a product line of hundreds of plant-based, compostable items, dozens of long-term nonprofit partners and much larger warehouses, World Centric looks a bit different today but our goals remain the same: to make a difference, reduce our footprint, and leave a better world behind.
